The Southwest Service & Tourism Awards are to recognize outstanding customer experiences in the region of Southwest Alberta, Canada. Or were you struck by how passionate an individual was who worked as an interpretive guide at an attraction? Whether you had a satisfying meal at a great restaurant or work with a volunteer who helps out in the community wherever they can, we would love to hear about it! Visitors to Southwest Alberta, employers, colleagues, individuals and business are all encouraged to nominate others and themselves in one or more of the different categories.

Presented to an individual or business who delivers excellent customer service while employed at an organization providing transportation solutions [Tour bus, Taxi, Limo, Rental Car].
Tourism Marketing Innovation
Presented to an individual or business that has demonstrated a commitment to the tourism industry by creating a new marketing or tourism product/service to enhance the awareness of southwest Alberta.
Outstanding Retail Employee
Presented to an individual assuming a front-line position at retail outlets, service stations, or grocery stores. The individual excelled in the level of service for local residents and visitors while enjoying their shopping experience
Outstanding Events & Conferences Employee
Presented to an individual who planned and executed a special event, annual event, conference or trade show that benefited the region of southwest Alberta.
Municipality/Community of the Year
Presented to a municipality/Community that works together to develop, build, promote and enhance tourism in southwest Alberta.
Festival & Event of the Year
Presented to a business or organization that has held a special event that fostered fun, uniqueness, and enhanced awareness of southwest Alberta. The event poses great spirit and raised southern Alberta’s profile as a tourism destination.
Outstanding Visitor Information Services
Presented to an individual or business who enhanced the awareness and experience of travelers by creating, providing, and delivering exceptional customer service. The individual is employed in a Visitor Information Centre or is a Travel Agent.
Outstanding in Media
Presented to an individual or business in the media industry for commitment and contribution to showcasing southern Alberta as a destination.
Outstanding Accommodation Employee
Presented to an individual whose professionalism, dedication, attitude, and quality of service best exemplifies the excellence in southwest Alberta’s accommodation industry [Hotel, Motel, B&B, and Campground].
Retail Store of the Year
Presented to a business that has a strong commitment to excellence by embracing and enhancing the visitors experiences while they shop at their establishment.
Volunteer of the Year
Presented to an individual, organization, or business that demonstrates outstanding volunteer spirit. The individual, organization, or business dedicates time, energy, and ideas regularly, and is always willing to lend a helping hand to the organization and to visitors.
Outstanding Sports & Recreation
Presented to an individual or business in the sports and recreation sector that has enhanced the awareness of southwest Alberta and their reputation in the adventure tourism industry by being committed to service excellence.
Outstanding Food & Beverage Employee
Presented to an individual who provided exceptional customer service and enhanced the overall experience of visitors to a restaurant, fast food location, banquet with catering, lounge, pub, night club, or food truck.
Restaurant of the Year
Presented to a restaurant that has a strong culinary reputation in southern Alberta. There is an emphasis on community spirit and offering attractive but different items to the menu or offering unique events. The restaurant stands out to others as providing the ultimate dining experience.
Hotel/Motel of the Year
Presented to an accommodation that is committed to enhancing their reputation and awareness in the tourism industry by consistently providing their guests with an outstanding overnight stay.
